Development Services

Provide youth with new opportunities for personal growth through exposure to new role models, social and recreational alternatives, leadership projects, and participating in life skills and education groups. Leadership development services by California Youth Outreach include components, such as:
   

Mentoring Services—To expose youth to alternative lifestyles, new opportunities, and positive
   adult relationships
Community Service Projects—Providing leadership opportunities to plan and participate in giving
   back to others through community service projects
Social and Recreation—To provide opportunities for youth to participate in pro-social activities
   and outings, and appreciate new healthy leisure and educational activities in social and natural settings
Personal Development and Support Groups—To facilitate the learning and practice of new
  personal and social life skills

School-Based Services

Provide assistance to students, their families, and school staff for enhancing student performance and a positive school climate. School-based services by California Youth Outreach are given in a comprehensive and alternative school setting. In particular, these components include:
   

Student and Parent Assistance—To provide services to students expelled or suspended from school, or other school behavioral problems, and assist 
  with alternative school placement or the re-entry process
Truancy Reduction—To provide direct assistance to students and improve attendance, motivation, and school engagement
Conflict and Mediation—To provide one-on-one and group interventions, resolve student conflicts, and prevent violence on campus
Gang Outreach—To reach out to students exhibiting gang involvement behaviors on campus and divert negative behaviors
